Regional Development Centre was founded on May 22, 1996. It has been based on conclusions of the 1995 Phare technical assistance project aimed at acceleration of regional development. A first step forward in regional cooperation within the region of Zasavje represents A Memorandum on Regional Cooperation signed by the mayors of five municipalities: Litija, hrastnik, Radeče, Trbovlje and Zagorje ob Savi.

In cooperation with our colleagues RDC prepared crucial development projects of this region, promoted and set up several mechanisms and tools: guarantee schemes, business incubator, technology centre, labour fund, different types of trainings and consultancy for human development of human potentials, entrepreneurship and rational use of environment and space.
